Program Manager, Talent Engagement (Local or Remote)

onX is seeking a driven Program Manager, Talent Engagement to join our Employee Experience team.  The goal of this new position is to strategically create, manage, and contribute to programs that allow onX to gain greater insight into our talent audiences and earn their affinity and advocacy for our employer brand. This person will have the opportunity to influence onX’s talent engagement strategy across the entire organization. This position will report to the Head of Talent Acquisition. 


Missoula, MT; Bozeman, MT; or Remote (PDX, SEA, SLC, or DEN) with travel as needed. Generous relocation assistance is available to qualified hires interested in relocation to Montana. 


(Essential Job Duties)

Talent Engagement & Employer Branding

  • Work closely with the Recruiting team on an improved employer branding strategy, including but not limited to: assisting in building a strategic plan, identifying key external partnerships, working with Marketing to create compelling content, and selecting the best communication tools and methods to reach targeted talent audiences.
  • Partner with key leaders across onX to develop an employer value proposition that promotes our mission, values, and remote-friendly culture throughout the recruiting and onboarding process. 
  • Manage and improve onX’s LinkedIn presence and content; use data and industry insights to recommend additional cost-effective platforms to promote onX’s employer brand.
  • Collaborate across departments with the Events Marketing Manager to establish annual events that promote onX’s employer brand in key regions.
  • Collaborate with the Employee Experience Benefits Manager to enhance how onX promotes its benefits and perks to external talent. 
  • Establish key metrics, monitor effectiveness, and suggest improvements. 

Program Management

  • Work closely with the Head of Talent Acquisition to organize, develop, and manage recruiting project schedules, define timeframes, recommend budget plans, and prioritize tasks to achieve hiring objectives. 
  • Create an improved process for collecting feedback from candidates, allowing us to continuously improve the candidate experience.
  • Continuously analyze industry data and trends to influence decisions that improve the effectiveness of our hiring practices and processes, from application through onboarding. 

onX Internship Program

  • Work closely with Engineering leaders and senior team members as a thought partner in order to execute and deliver onX’s internship recruitment plan and strategy.
  • Serves as point of contact for assigned schools, develops and maintains partnerships with faculty and key stakeholders including internal business leaders/clients and community leaders, as well as enhancing awareness and branding of onX as an employer of choice
  • Research and analyze university data and trends in order to promote improvements to onX’s internship recruitment strategies.
  • Partner with the Recruiting team to actively source, screen, evaluate, and hire interns.
  • Be a liaison with the new interns and ensure they receive the best-in-class integration and onboarding experience during their internship


  • Contribute to additional strategic hiring programs and projects as assigned by the Head of Talent Acquisition. 
  • Mentor and inspire your colleagues with your positivity and by delivering amazing results. 


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field, or equivalent working experience
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in Marketing, Branding, or related required.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in program or project management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for storytelling and relationship building
  • Demonstrable experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
  • Proven track record for successfully supporting several projects at a time while delivering on-schedule
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and flexibility


  • Experience with recruiting, either as a Hiring Manager, Recruiter, or participation in interviewing committees
  • Experience operating in a Recruiting or HR organization
  • Experience working in the high-growth start-up, mobile app, consumer software, or small business software (SMB) industry
  • Passion for the outdoor recreation
