onX is seeking a Marketing Automation Manager with a passion for enhancing the customer journey. As part of our marketing automation team, you will focus on conversion and engagement strategy and execution around email, push notification, in-app messaging, and other communication channels. Connecting with outdoor enthusiasts who use the onX Offroad App every day, you'll be able to immediately see the impact of your work and help us advance our mission of inspiring others to find their own adventures off the pavement. This position will report to the Head of Lifecycle & Marketing Automation.


Missoula, MT; Bozeman, MT; or Remote from the USA only. 


(Essential Job Duties)

  • Create and optimize post-install marketing campaigns to increase conversion of trial and freemium users of onX Offroad. 
  • Utilize in-app message, email, push notification, and other channels to create a cohesive and personalized customer journey.
  • Constantly be curious and utilize data to inform campaign ideas to monetize new and existing users.
  • Formulate creative, hypothesis-driven tests and conduct them from ideation all the way through to post-hoc analysis.
  • Follow a process of continuous improvement, learning at each step in the process and sharing those learnings with the team to improve our ability to create engaging and relevant campaigns


  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year College or University; or in place of a degree, an additional three (3) or more years of relevant experience.
  • Five (5) or more years of CRM and marketing automation experience (via Braze, Leanplum, Marketo, Pardot, Eloqua, Hubspot, etc.) with specific experience segmenting audiences, building triggered communications and creating lifecycle customer journeys
  • Understanding of analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Amplitude, etc)
  • Demonstrated experience using data to uncover new marketing opportunities that improve ROI
  • Superior written communication skills


  • Experience working with Braze
  • Mobile app marketing experience
  • Direct B2C (business-to-consumer) marketing experience
  • Experience with design tools (Adobe, Figma, etc.) a plus
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS3/Javascript
  • Familiarity with SQL or similar query language
  • Self-starter with the ability to find solutions for unstructured problems
  • Passion for the outdoors; understanding of the offroad industry is preferred
