Senior Technical Recruiter (Remote)

onX has ambitious hiring goals for the remainder of 2021 and beyond. To support us with hiring activity, we’re seeking an experienced Senior Technical Recruiter. You will focus on full-cycle recruitment of talented software engineers for new vacancies in our rapidly growing Engineering department. Our suite of mobile applications are native, meaning that much of our recruiting activity is focused on both iOS and Android Engineers. The candidate must be able to successfully work with urgency by managing, prioritizing, and completing candidate searches against a fast-paced timeline. 

This is a unique opportunity. You will help exceptional Engineers unite their skills with their passion for the outdoors. You will be an integral part of a rapidly growing technology company and join a high-performing, fun-loving Recruiting team. This position will report to the Manager of Recruiting.


This is a remote position, where it is a requirement to perform the work from either Pacific Time Zone or Mountain Time Zone, in the United States only.

(Essential Job Duties)

  • Own and lead recruiting activities across onX’s Engineering teams 

  • By maintaining a high volume of outreach and interviews, be able to create a robust pipeline of software engineering candidates that results in outstanding hires

  • Within onX’s time-to-fill standards, proactively lead candidates throughout the entire hiring process, from searching, to initial phone screens, through the offer stage, all the way to on-boarding

  • Know where to find candidates, how to engage them, and launch qualified candidates into the hiring process

  • Maintain a positive candidate experience through a Customer First approach

  • Be able to own and drive processes independently, including looking for areas of opportunity to innovate, conduct experiments and/or make positive changes based on data

  • Become a subject matter expert in the areas you are recruiting for in order to become a trusted talent advisor of the hiring managers you work with 

  • Leverage relevant advertising resources and marketing strategies to create local and regional job awareness in order to attract qualified applications for key roles within your area of responsibility

  • Consistently update and track your hiring metrics in order to inform your hiring managers, recruiting team, and senior leadership  

  • Build and maintain network of potential candidates through proactive market research and anticipating hiring needs

  • Utilize onX’s applicant tracking system (ATS) effectively following compliance standards, documenting key actions, recommending improvements and ensuring all data is accurate for reporting purposes

  • Be a champion for creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive hiring process 

  • Lead additional recruitment initiatives as needed

  • Other duties as assigned by the Recruiting Manager


  • Bachelor’s degree in from an accredited university or equivalent experience 
  • Five (5) or more years of experience successfully focused on the full-cycle recruitment of Software Engineers
  • Demonstrable track record of exceptional candidate: generation/sourcing, interviewing/assessment, and closing strategies
  • Proven experience hiring Android and/or iOS Software Engineers 
  • Must possess strong organizational skills, be a strategic thinker and a self-starter
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills


  • Experience recruiting for a high-growth start-up in the mobile app, consumer software, or small business software (SMB) industry
  • Experience using onX products for outdoor exploration
  • Experience promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the hiring process 
  • Passion for the outdoors
