Senior Interactive Product Designer (Local or Remote)

onX is seeking a Senior Interactive Product Designer with a passion for off-roading and designing products that can help us create and innovate for our Offroad Product. As an onX Interactive Product Designer, you will help design multiple projects that will not only help innovate for Offroad but unlock features for all our products. Your focus will be on all aspects pertaining to product design, including but not limited to UX, Visual Design, UI, and Ideation. A strong candidate will also thrive in collaborating with our great team of product designers, engineers, and various other key team members.

This is a great opportunity to be a part of a dynamic growing company focused on making an impact on the business, and the best applicants will have a strong product, visual, and UX design skills to help design and deliver projects while understanding customer use cases, delivering prototypes, working with and building on top of our design system and aid in user testing to help determine the optimal interaction and visual design. This position will report to The Director of Product Design.


Missoula, MT, or Bozeman, MT preferred. Remote from the USA is acceptable for strongly qualified candidates, with travel as needed. Additionally, being authorized to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment. We do not sponsor work visas (of any kind ) for this position at this time.


(Essential Job Duties)

  • Utilize high-quality product, interaction, UX, and visual design skills to deliver and assigned projects

  • Envision new experiences based on user insights and product goals

  • Design for multiple projects at a time, managing time, goals, and cross-functional collaboration effectively

  • Design and collaborate across multiple markets and apps with exceptional design talent around product design, visual design, and user experience

  • Help design and maintain an understanding of the customer journey through the planning, field use, and post-trip review phases of the customer lifecycle

  • Help design and deliver high value, highly engaging product, visual, and UX designs with consistent and holistic design across multiple apps and markets

  • Able to produce quality design concepts quickly, be open to feedback, and translate feedback rapidly into design iterations

  • Deliver prototypes and conduct user testing to determine optimal interaction and visual design

  • Work closely with multi-functional product teams as well as horizontally with other designers

  • Help create and maintain a governed design system


  • Bachelor’s degree in Interactive Design or equivalent experience 
  • Five (5) or more years of design experience in product, interactive and visual design at a high growth consumer or SMB software, mobile application, or consumer internet company or consultancy
  • Strong knowledge and experience in various off-roading activities


  • Knowledge of and comfort with contemporary software design tools and technologies such as Figma, Sketch, or equivalent
  • Desire to learn and grow as an interactive designer while being a positive influence on the team
  • Embrace and thrive with a high tolerance for growth, change, and experimentation
  • Self-starter with the ability to find solutions for unstructured problems
  • Collaborative, well organized, and efficient, a strong bias for action
  • Strong verbal presentation and written communications skills
