Senior Software Engineer in Test (Local or Remote)

WE ARE LOOKING FOR

onX is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Test with a passion for ensuring we deliver the highest quality products to our consumers by innovating automating testing practices.  As an onX Lead Senior Software Engineer in Test, you will help lead the design and implementation of automation frameworks. Your focus will be on making an impact in quality testing practices through innovation and solving challenging problems.  This person will report to a Senior Manager, Software Development.

LOCATION

Missoula, Bozeman, MT, or remote from the USA only. Additionally, being authorized to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment. We do not sponsor work visas (of any kind ) for this position at this time. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

(Essential Job Duties)

  • Build scalable services and frameworks to support automated testing throughout the Software Development Lifecycle.

  • Collaborating with embedded QA resources, and Engineers to determine automated solutions to quality and process improvements.

  • Evangelizing and implementing testing design patterns where appropriate

  • Setting up and maintaining infrastructure for testing environments

  • Building and maintaining quality metrics and dashboards

  • Support your teammates with individual goal-setting, professional development, and mentoring

  • Work closely with your peers to drive alignment on solutions that work with all teams and needs.

  • You’ll err on the side of over-communicating. You will help teams work efficiently together.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum eight (8) years of professional software development experience required, where SDET development was your professional focus for at least three (3) or more years. 
  • You have at least one (1) years of experience managing direct reports
  • You have experience building and maintaining scalable test architectures
  • You’ve work with mobile applications and microservices
  • You evaluate technologies and solutions based on merit, stability, performance and the ability to solve quality problems
  • You understand CI/CD and Build pipelines
  • You have a solid understanding of testing principles and methodologies
  • You have a strong computer science foundation
  • You believe that your profession is a craft and you’re driven to improve every day
  • You are an advocate for the customer and their experience
  • You want to work with other happy, talented engineers
  • You write great code
  • You get stuff done
  • You take ownership
  • You’re fun to work with

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or related degree required
  • Experience working with Cypress.io, XCUITest, and Espresso
  • Familiarity with at least one major cloud platform provider, such as Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience working with a distributed team
